Paintings > Flat Zen

This series grew out of the papercut work. The process begins by creating a background on thick watercolor paper using watered down acrylic paint. Some spaces are blocked out and layered upon. Then I begin making patterns painted with a flat brush. Nothing is pre-planned or sketched out. Each section informs the next. It is a very zen and comforting technique.
